Fringe, fringe, fringe! This unique wrap is inspired by Ralph Lauren’s cashmere fringed scarf from his Fall 2015 collection. I had been looking for Noro’s Silk Garden Solo (45% mohair 45% silk 10% wool), and was so happy to find it at The Black Sheep in Encinitas, California.
This wrap is quick to work. The size can be adjusted for a more personal fit by adding or subtracting rows from the buttonhole bands. The ribbing in the bands adds elasticity to there garment. I had a great time with the fringe, it took me back to my 4th grade art class when we learned macrame.

Circumference- S – 37″ M -41 1/2″, LG – 46″
ABBREVIATIONS
K – knit
P- purl
YO – yarn over
K2tog – knit 2 together
STITCH GUIDE
1X1 rib – k1, p1 to end of row
INSTRUCTIONS
Using the larger needle, Cast on 42 stitches.
Knit in stockinette for 33″ (37 1/2″, 42″)
Bind off loosely.
Button band
Using smaller needles, cast on 25 stitches.
Work in a 1X1 rib, beginning and ending with a knit stitch on odd rows (RS) and a purl stitch on even rows (WS), for 11 1/4″ or measurement to match length of the sides of scarf.
Mark for buttons – 1 1/2″ from top and bottom, then mark for two other buttons evenly spaced between other button marks (I put my buttons a little off-center).
Buttonhole band
Using smaller needles, cast on 25 and work in 1X1 rib. Work buttonholes to correspond with button marks on button band.
If buttonhole falls on WS, work rib to last 10 stitches, k2tog, YO, and finish row in 1X1 rib.
If buttonhole falls on there RS, work 8 stitches in rib, YO, p2tog, finish row in 1X1 rib.
Bind off in rib pattern.
FINISHING
Seam button band and buttonhole band to either side of wrap.
Block.
Attach triple-knot fringe with crochet hook.
Measure lengths of yarn at 55″ (or desired length). For a continuous waterfall look, I used 2 strands of yarn in each stitch. Look here for help with triple knot fringe.
Sew buttons.
