Hadrian’s Wall

The most unique trip I’ve taken so far was to “walk the wall” in northern England with my sisters and friend, Catherine.  Hadrian was a Roman emperor who built a wall in his along the northernmost boundary of the Roman Empire to keep out the wild men of the north!  The walk is a World Heritage Site that spans 84 miles from Newcastle Upon Tyne to Carlisle.  You can still see parts of the original wall and ruins of one of the garrisons.
